Korea's regional technopark network: what a technopark is and who can use one
전국 테크노파크: 지역 테크노파크란 무엇인가
The Korea Technopark Association lists 19 member technoparks nationwide. Each is a separate foundation with its own recruitment rounds, facilities and funding line under the Special Act on Support for Industrial Technology Districts. None of the pages checked for this post state a foreign-founder eligibility rule.

On this page
Eleven different region-plus-technopark searches already land this site on page one. None of them find a dedicated page. The gap is not a lack of interest.
It is that a technopark is not one national office.
Nineteen foundations, not one office
The Korea Technopark Association's own site states that it works with "19 Technoparks nationwide." Its listed members include Seoul, Busan, Daegu, Incheon, Gwangju and Daejeon.
Others on the list are Ulsan, Sejong, Gyeonggi, Gangwon, Chungbuk and Chungnam. The remaining members are Jeonbuk, Jeonnam, Gyeongbuk, Gyeongnam, Jeju and two further technoparks.
That count matters for an applicant. A founder cannot apply to "the Korean technopark network." A founder applies to one named technopark, for one named facility, in one named city.
The legal basis is a shared statute, not a shared budget
Busan Technopark's own overview page names the "Special Act on Support for Industrial Technology Districts" as its establishing authority. The page designates Busan Technopark as the business executor for a regional industrial technology district.
Other technoparks describe the same statute. Each also names a city or provincial ordinance covering its own establishment.
That structure explains why funding and rules differ by region. A technopark answers to national ministries for its legal basis. It answers to its own city or province for day-to-day operating rules.

What a technopark can actually offer
Individual technopark pages checked for this batch describe a consistent shape. Each lists leasable office or lab space inside a named complex. Each lists shared testing or certification equipment.
Each also lists R&D, business-support and export programmes. Busan Technopark's own page, for example, lists KOLAS-certified testing access and smart-factory support.
None of the pages checked state that these offerings differ for a foreign-owned company. They also do not state exclusion. The published recruitment notice for the specific round answers eligibility, not a technopark's general information page.
Choosing the right regional page
A founder should start from the city or province where the business is, or will be, registered. Gyeongbuk Technopark and Gyeongnam Technopark, for instance, serve different provinces.
Each has a different industrial specialisation. A company outside a technopark's own region is unlikely to qualify for that technopark's local-industry programmes.
The foreigner-facing bodies guide covers the national-level agencies a foreign founder meets first. A technopark sits one level below that. It is a regional, sector-specific facility and funding line, not a national gateway.
Use the ecosystem guide to place technoparks against the other institutions a foreign founder in Korea will meet.
