The business address: what a tax office and the visa file accept
사업자등록과 사업장 주소
The National Tax Service's own English-language service listing names a lease agreement copy as a required document for a business registration application. Business registration is one of InvestKOREA's seven incorporation steps, and the address behind it carries into the company's official documents.

On this page
A business registration application needs an address behind it, and the National Tax Service names the document that proves it: a lease agreement.
A lease agreement is a named, required document
The NTS Taxpayer Service Center's English page covers business registration services. It lists a lease agreement copy among the documents an applicant submits. The same list includes identification, the registration form, and, for regulated sectors, a license copy.
For a partnership, the page also names a partnership agreement copy. For certain sectors, such as gold retail or fuel sales, it names a source-of-funds statement as well.
Registration sits inside a larger, timed sequence
InvestKOREA's incorporation procedure places business registration as step five of seven, after court registration of incorporation and any needed authorization, and before the corporate bank account opens. InvestKOREA states this step takes four to five days.
The address on the lease agreement is what the tax office reviews at this stage. A founder should have that lease in hand before this step starts, not partway through it.
| InvestKOREA step | Timing, as published |
|---|---|
| 3. Registration of incorporation | 2-3 days |
| 5. Business registration | 4-5 days |
| 6. Corporate bank account | Immediate |
The certificate the address produces has a name
Once business registration completes, NTS's own certificate-listing page names the result: a "Certificate of Business Registration." It lists that alongside items such as a Certificate of Tax Payment and a Certificate of Income, all issued immediately.
NTS's page states these are available on-site, or through kiosk machines NTS lists as operating every day from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
That certificate, not the lease itself, is what a bank, a landlord or a government office asks to see afterward. The lease stays behind the scenes once registration completes.
What the published pages do not settle
This post fetched two NTS English pages and InvestKOREA's incorporation sequence. Neither NTS page addresses coworking or shared-office addresses by name, and neither states a visa-specific office requirement.
A founder relying on an office address for a visa file, rather than for business registration alone, should confirm that separate requirement with the issuing visa office directly, since no page fetched here covers it.
For the surrounding registration steps, see the guide to registering a business in Korea as a foreigner. For visa questions this address may feed into, see our visa guide.
